Talking and getting ready…

We’ll start by creating a safe space where you can share the specific event or memory you want to address. It’s important to understand how this event has impacted your life.

The EMDR process…

I will gently guide you to recall the memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds. Bilateral stimulation will allow you to resolve traumatic memories by accessing and rewiring neural networks in your brain. You’ll create new insights, emotions, and positive beliefs.

Subsequent sessions…

As we continue, the distress associated with the memory will lessen over time. You may gain new insights and perspectives, seeing the memory in a different light. We can then work toward developing healthier ways to cope with the memory’s impact on your life.
